Take a Glimpse at Brooke's Baby Registry

Pregnant and in a panic about all things baby that need to be done? Trying to make your baby registry, but it feels like information overload? Don’t worry, every mom feels this way, I know I did! Thinking about your postpartum journey in general is overwhelming, and your registry is one of the first things that makes you realize how out of control it feels, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The more you prepare and educate yourself on what to expect during the fourth trimester and the first year postpartum, the better you’ll feel.

Here are ten of my top baby registry items:

  1. Nipple Shield Silverettes: These nipple shields are a LIFE SAVER! If you plan to breastfeed, they are a must have! These will help protect your nipples from cuts, cracks, sores and infections. They are made with silver which is a natural antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antimicrobial metal. They are naturally soothing and provide space for your nipples to get airflow while also keeping them enclosed and safe from infection.

  2. Diapers: When making your registry, you might be thinking about all of the cute baby outfits, fun toys, and baby monitors. All of that is a must to add, everyone loves getting all the adorable baby stuff, but don't skip the diapers on your registry. If you take away one thing from this, ask for diapers! Whatever idea of how many diapers you think you will need, quadruple it. Seriously. So. Many. Diapers.

  3. Portable Diaper Changing Pad: These portable changing pads are so helpful if you’re someone who is on the go a lot. Thinking about changing tables in public–ick! These portable diaper changing pads not only relieve a little of my stress from the germs, it’s also extremely convenient. It folds up so it can easily fit on your stroller, in your diaper bag, or grab and go with the handle if you need. The lining of the pad is easy to wipe off for a quick cleaning, and it’s also machine washable.

  4. Baby Carrier: I loved using my baby carrier when I needed to get things done around the house or even just wanted to be able to use my hands freely, but the baby needed comfort and snuggles. This baby carrier is perfect. The baby wraps made me nervous she wouldn’t be secure or that I was doing it wrong and not positioning her hips properly. This carrier is easy to use, comfortable, and always feels secure.

  5. Electric Nail File: I don’t know about you, but it freaks me out when I think about using regular nail clippers on my baby’s nails. Those tiny little fingers are so fragile and it’s not like you can tell your baby to stay still while you do it. This electric file gave me more peace of mind using it, plus it has a light on the end if you’re doing it in the dark–because let’s be honest, we usually try to handle it in pitch black while they are sleeping to minimize movement. Bonus points: it comes with attachments for you to use too, a little built-in self care!

  6. Hemorrhoid Pads: If you know anything about me, you know I keep it real over here. This recommendation may not be pretty, but it is an absolute must! You will get hemorrhoids. I know, it’s gross and it sucks, but it’s gonna happen. These cooling pads will be your everything for a little while.

  7. NoseFrida Nasal Aspirator: While we’re on the subject of gross, let's get this one out of the way. There is nothing glorious and beautiful about having to suck snot out of your kids nose, but you'll have to do it. I like this one over the typical bulb style aspirator. The NoseFrida is see-through and disassembles into four parts so you can make sure it is thoroughly cleaned and dried to prevent mold. It's also controlled by you, so you can adjust the suction to what baby needs instead of constantly having to use the bulb until you get it all.

  8. Silicone Suction Plates: When your baby starts eating solids, remember to come back and thank me for this one. These plates are amazing! They suction directly to the highchair or table so it’s planted in place for them to explore their foods without having to worry about them playing with the plate or throwing it. Introducing foods is messy enough without the plate flying across the room. Plus, it’s easy to clean and this set comes with lids!

  9. Car Monitor: This camera mirror display is so helpful for car rides. The mirrors that attach to the back of the headrest are often distorted, hard to see from your rearview mirror, and they can have a glare. The camera is a much safer alternative to constantly squinting into your rearview mirror or twisting around at a red light.

  10. Comprehensive C-Section Guide: When I found out I was pregnant, I dreamed of this perfect, unmedicated spiritual birth. My daughter had other plans, and I had to deliver her surgically because she was breech. I remember feeling so bewildered learning that all I’d prepared for was now null and void. That’s why I created a comprehensive guide to walk you through it. Whether you are planning to have a cesarean or not, I recommend this workbook. My birth experience went so much smoother than it could have, and I don’t want any mom to have to go into a major abdominal surgery completely unprepared.
