Meet Dalia Cuevas

Associate Professional Counselor

Through my own life experiences, I’ve found a passion for meeting people where they are and supporting them as they meet their goals and transform their life. A passion of mine is working with women dealing with postpartum anxiety, depression, and identity changes. The pregnancy and postpartum period can be isolating, lonely and overwhelming. My hope is to be able to provide a place of support, guidance and connection. I also offer support to teens going through transitions and everyday difficulties such as overwhelm in school, peer issues and behavioral challenges. I am bilingual and accept Spanish speaking clients. Estoy aqui para ayudar!

Why did I become a therapist?

My personal experiences with hardships such as dealing with anxiety, being stigmatized, and transitioning into motherhood have shaped me into the individual I am today. Through my experiences I have learned that as humans we can all use some guidance during difficult times in our lives and some praise during the good times. Being a therapist has allowed me to tap into the passion I have for supporting others. 

Mis experiencias personales con dificultades como lidiar con la ansiedad, ser estigmatizada y hacer la transición a la maternidad me han moldeado en la persona que soy hoy en día. A través de mis experiencias, he aprendido que como seres humanos todos podemos necesitar orientación durante los momentos difíciles en nuestras vidas y elogios durante los buenos momentos. Ser terapeuta me ha permitido conectar con la pasión que tengo por apoyar a los demás.


What is it like being in a counseling session with me?

I give all of my clients a safe space to feel heard and comfortable to share their deepest struggles. Together we will navigate what you’re going through and create a plan for lasting change. I love seeing how small changes in my clients creates positive change in their lives. It brings me a lot of joy to see people go from not knowing what to do with their life anymore to being happy individuals striving to live their life.

Juntos navegaremos por lo que estás pasando y crearemos un plan para un cambio duradero. Me encanta ver cómo pequeños cambios en mis clientes generan un cambio positivo en sus vidas. Me llena de alegría ver a las personas pasar de no saber qué hacer con su vida a ser individuos felices que luchan por vivir su vida.


What is my area of expertise?

I enjoy working with Spanish speaking minorities as well as women going through pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood. The stigma for mental health treatment with individuals in these populations often make them feel hesitant to reach out for help. I’m here to help you see the value in putting yourself first and taking care of your mental health. My goal is to help you recognize your value and alleviate the stigma of mental health care. No one deserves to struggle in silence.

Disfruto trabajando con minorías de habla hispana, así como con mujeres que atraviesan el embarazo, el posparto y la maternidad temprana. El estigma asociado con el tratamiento de la salud mental en estas poblaciones a menudo hace que se sientan renuentes a buscar ayuda. Estoy aquí para ayudarte a ver el valor de poner tu bienestar primero y cuidar tu salud mental. Mi objetivo es ayudarte a reconocer tu valía y aliviar el estigma del cuidado de la salud mental. Nadie merece luchar en silencio.

  • In my spare time, I love going on walks and playing pickleball.

  • Traveling to new places and trying new foods is my favorite way to rest and reconnect!

  • My faith in God plays a big part in my life.  

  • I enjoy finding motivation in reading books on success, being active outdoors, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
