Gem Coleman
Licensed Professional Counselor
Living with anxiety, depression, chronic pain/illness, or constant pressure to hold everything together can feel overwhelming. Maybe you’re juggling work, being a new mother, and navigating relationships while trying to manage your own needs. Or perhaps you’re moving through a major life transitions health diagnosis, or the slow burnout of always putting yourself last. These experiences can leave you feeling disconnected from your body, unsure of your worth, and longing for peace you can’t quite reach.
Using a trauma informed and compassionate lens, I take a collaborative approach to therapy—one that honors your full story and the many roles you hold. We'll explore the connection between your mind, body, and emotions, making space for curiosity, self-compassion, and healing. You are the expert on your life; my role is to help you slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and reconnect with your strength and sense of self. Together we will work towards reducing the emotional burden of stress and draw near to what brings you peace, purpose and connection.
By the time we’re done working together, my hope is that you’ll feel more grounded and empowered—able to set boundaries with confidence, soothe your nervous system, and move through life with greater ease. Most importantly, you’ll rediscover a sense of balance and wholeness that feels true to who you are, not who you think you “should” be while creating a space for clarity, healing and meaningful change- at your place and on your terms.

Guided by her Caribbean roots and her own healing journey through chronic pain and illness, Algem brings warmth, empathy, and cultural depth to her practice. Her work is grounded in the belief that rest, connection, and community nurture true wholeness.
More than just my work:
“ I’ve seen the incredible resilience people carry, even in their most difficult moments. It’s an honor to walk alongside people as they face fears, rewrite old narratives, and step into a more authentic, fulfilling life.”
I believe rest is our birthright—a sacred space to lean into a life intentionally filled with ease, gratitude, and connection. It feeds the soul, renews our spirit, and strengthens the faith that carries us through life’s challenges.
When I am not working you can likely find me listening to a podcast while on a walk or spending time with loved ones. I will also never say no to a romantic comedy or true crime documentary!
